The phrase 'rightly dividing' (orthotomeo) means to cut straight, to handle correctly. This is the foundation of proper Bible study — recognizing dispensational distinctions, understanding to whom each passage is addressed, and letting Scripture interpret Scripture. Context is everything; a text without a context is a pretext.
